Clinic Policies
Time Management: Please respect your fellow patients and your Physician's time by preparing for your appointment to make the most of the allotted time. If you have multiple health concerns that need to be discussed, you may be required to book a second appointment. Please respect your Physician's time by allowing us ample time to reschedule your appointment. If you do not attend your appointment, you may be subject to a charge. We do use a third party company to remind of appointments via email and text message.
We are wanting to remind our patients that our doctors not only work in our clinic, but also work at various other institutions in our town such as the Creston Valley Hospital Emergency Room, Hospitalist Shifts at the creston Valley Hospital, Creston Valley Hospital Operating Room as either a surgeon or anesthesiologist, Maple Maternity Clinic, Creston Mental Health Clinic, Swan Valley Lodge, Crestview Care Village and the HUB at Kootenay River Secondary School.

Scent-Free Policy: Some Summit Medical Clinic employees report sensitivities to various chemical-based or scented products. We ask for everyone's cooperation in our efforts to accommodate their well-being.
In response to health concerns, Summit Medical Clinic has developed a Scent-Free Policy. Scented products such as hair spray, perfume, hair products and deodorant can trigger reactions such as respiratory distress and migraine headaches. This policy also considers a strong marijuana or tobacco smoke as a potential trigger. Staff and visitors are asked not to use these products prior to visiting the office.
Should a patient or visitor to the clinic present with a strong scent, they will be given a verbal warning of our policy. After this initial warning, should the person visit again while using a strong scent, they may be asked to leave the premises and change their appointment to a phone appointment; or reschedule the in-office appointment to the next available appointment.
Medical Office Assistants (MOA's): Will do their best to assist you. They are bound by confidentiality. They may ask questions, at the request of your Physician, or to enable them to help you. They can not provide medical advice. Please treat them with respect. Verbal or physical abusive behaviour is not tolerated and appropriate action will be taken.
We are committed to providing you with excellent and respectful support from our office staff, and ask that you return the same level of consideration and respect in kind. To reiterate, abusive behaviour- verbal or otherwise- will not be tolerated and may result in action being taken, such as a removal of the patient-physician relationship.
It is with respect and gratitude that we are able to support our patients on Yaqan Nu?kiy land on the Ktunaxa Traditional Territories.
